Denham's got an “A” from the NRA, but an “F” in Common Sense

We’ve seen the horror and heavy cost of gun violence in communities large and small in every state of our nation. Meanwhile, Congress and NRA-backed lawmakers like Rep. Jeff Denham use the same old excuses to justify their failure to act on common-sense gun control legislation.

And they’ve got cover. As I wrote in The Modesto Bee this week, the 1996 Dickey Amendment prohibits federal funds from being used to research gun violence. Congress made it easy to ignore life-saving information that could lead to real change. Rep. Denham gets to hide behind the status quo while more Americans die.

So, Rep. Denham may be used to ignoring the facts but there’s no way he can ignore his constituents. That’s why I need your help. Click here and tell Rep. Denham why you support common-sense gun policy.

The Gun Violence Prevention Act has seven Republican co-sponsors. Guess what? Rep. Jeff Denham is, once again, missing-in-action.

By sharing your story, you’ll remind Rep. Denham that his constituents are more important than his “A” NRA rating.

That’s a big reason why I’m running to replace him. We need a leader in Congress who listens to the people they represent. As your representative, you can bet I’ll bring common sense solutions from the Central Valley back to the United States Capitol.

In solidarity,

P.S. If you’re not sure what to say about gun safety, don’t worry — I’ve got your back. Instead, I hope you’ll share my article with your family and friends on Facebook.
